Nepal ko Kala is an initiative that showcases Nepal’s hidden cultural gems through curating heritage tours and events like heritage walks, art exhibitions, storytelling sessions, and interactive workshops. This project explores various heritage routes, educates on cultural heritage, and promotes identity.

Nepal ko Kala aims to curate walking tours using existing information to make the hidden gems of Patan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, accessible to all, through a free, digital platform. The project members, with support from Kathmandu Valley Preservation Trust, have curated three walking tours covering Patan’s local lifestyle, cultural heritage and landmarks. These walking tours and descriptions of the key landmarks of each tour can be easily accessed through our own website and on Galli Maps– a local app.

Currently, our tours cover Patan’s architectural monuments as well as special festive walking tours that walk you through the time when these first started. The three self guided walks are:

A.Discovering Patan’s Religious and Cultural Heritage
B.Bringing Life to the Lifestyle of Patan
C.Exploring Monasteries and Narrow Lanes of Patan
