Our Hub identified a health outpost in Tippeni as a focal point for rebuilding efforts, recognizing the dire need in the Sindhupalchowk district following the devastating earthquake. Situated far from the nearest hospital, which was a three-hour drive away, this outpost stood as a crucial lifeline for the community. Determined to restore essential healthcare services, the Hub rallied support and successfully raised more than USD100,000 to rebuild this healthpost.
The aim was to ensure that residents of the area, who often couldn’t afford the long journey to the distant hospital, had access to high-quality medical care. Additionally, the rebuilt outpost aimed to attract those who sought affordable yet reliable healthcare services.
Through meticulous planning, including thorough schematic reviews and on-site sub-structure assessments, the rebuilding process commenced. Challenges such as frequent landslides obstructing access to the outpost were diligently addressed, with efforts made to clear the route for smooth passage.
By 2018, the restored health outpost was fully operational, serving the surrounding communities with renewed vigor and capacity. (168 words)
