The Financial Literacy Project educated school children about personal finance basics. In a three-hour workshop, our Hub addressed queries on digital financial services and personal financial management for around 170 participants. Students discussed key topics such as controlling overspending, banking habits, digital payments, savings, and children’s financial responsibilities. To foster financial responsibility, we distributed piggy banks and asked each student to maintain a financial diary tracking income and expenses.
Our efforts resulted in opening cooperative bank accounts for 69 students and traditional bank accounts for 23 students, covering 90% of program attendees. Notably, 12 students expressed interest in using digital payment platforms to help their parents pay utility bills, showcasing the project’s impact on digital financial literacy.
