During the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic in Nepal, the country’s underdeveloped healthcare system faced significant challenges when the number of cases exceeded 1000. One of the major problems was the shortage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which put frontline healthcare professionals at a high risk of getting infected. However, at that time, there was limited reliable data available about the shortage and demand for medical supplies.

Recognizing the urgent need to effectively protect frontline medical professionals in the collective fight against COVID-19, we took the initiative to collect data on the demand for PPE supplies among frontline healthcare professionals in Nepal. The goal was not only to guide the hub’s response but also to provide information to other organizations and stakeholders involved in supporting frontline healthcare professionals across the country. We publicly shared the data to assist national and international partners in their efforts to address the gap in the demand for PPE supplies.

You can access the collected data at this link: https://airtable.com/shrzsqatan4V8owJ8.

As the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic improved and circumstances changed, the project was subsequently closed.
